Here’s what you need to know about improving your daily habits.
 

Now is the moment to shape the life you desire, but how can you accomplish that? Here’s my best answer: Cultivate the right habits. Let's delve into the precise steps for creating habits that align with the life you envision. Scientifically, habits can be broken down into four key components: cue, craving, response, and reward. Allow me to illustrate with an example. As the day winds down, typically around 2 p.m. or 3 p.m., fatigue sets in. The cue is recognizing the late hour and feeling tired. This triggers a craving for a cookie in the kitchen. The response is to indulge in the cookie, leading to the immediate reward of feeling better and rejuvenated for work. To reshape this habit, we need to introduce a modification. For instance, at that energy dip around 2 or 3 p.m., alternatives might include changing your choice of beverage or exploring different options. Personally, during my afternoon lull, I step away from the computer screen, head to the cafeteria, and opt for an apple. I still engage in a conversation, similar to the cookie scenario, and return to work with a refreshing feeling.
